Abstract This article equates the multidimensional artistic form of Argentine tango (dance, music and song) with innately hybrid film. It compares culture to height French cinephilia in 1950s Paris, France, arguing that they are both passionate, erotic nostalgic ways life. In Carlos Saura’s Tango (1998) Sally Potter’s The Lesson (1997), intertwining related skills practice filmmaking an audio-visual treat for senses a cognitive challenge mind. Their self-reflexivity promotes excess result is highly expressive complex form.
